Nordic Furniture Contract Takes Home a Win at Interior Design’s Best of Year Event
NEW YORK — December 4, 2017 — Nordic Furniture Contract , manufacturer of innovative solutions for contemporary
work culture, is excited to announce that its multifunctional Boccaporto seating product, designed by
Metrica, brought home an honor in the Furniture: Contract/Pods category at Interior Design’s 12th Annual
Best of Year (BoY) awards event. The annual ceremony, which was held on Friday, December 1st at the
Frank Gehry-designed IAC Building in New York City, drew more than 1,000 designers, architects, and
manufacturers, to celebrate products and projects that represent design excellence.

Designed by Metrica for Nordic Furniture Contract, Boccaporto is an innovative dual seating and working unit,
developed for open offices and public areas. In addition to the single seat, Boccaporto is also offered in
double-seat versions. This unique collection provides an isolated environment for employees to work
alone or as a team, creating an opportunity for both privacy and collaboration.
Interior Design's Best of Year is the design industry's premiere design awards program, honoring the
most significant work of the year as well as recognizing designers, architects and manufacturers from
around the globe. Now celebrating its 12th year, Interior Design's Best of Year has become the ultimate
measure of excellence, showcasing what's happening today in every category of design while
simultaneously setting the bar even higher for the future. Winners were announced live at the awards
ceremony by hosts Cindy Allen, Editor in Chief, and Carol Cisco, Publisher of Interior Design . Nordic Furniture Contract,
along with the other awardees, took home the coveted Best of Year bulb award, designed by Harry Allen.

Nordic Furniture Contract Tola Chair Awarded German Design Award
Innovative manufacturer brings home honor for design excellence
Launched in 2012, by the German Design Council, the German Design Awards is one of the most well-respected design competitions in the world. A jury of design experts from various disciplines select each winner based on a rigorous evaluation of the product’s quality and unique contribution to the international design landscape. Nordic Furniture Contract’s Tola chair was one of 45 products to be awarded this year out of approximately 2,500 entries.

Conceptualized by f/p design’s Fritz Frenkler and Anette Ponholzer for Nordic Furniture Contract, the Tola office and conference chair is designed to respond to a shift in workplace culture, where hierarchal distinctions are are becoming less prominent. Tola is versatile in its appearance, with modular, overlapping back shells that look equally as stylish as a low back conference chair, high back executive chair, or as bench seating. Tola's thoughtful design is timeless and functional, allowing the seat to fit perfectly into an office or residential environment.
Tola has received various accolades in the past, including the 2013 Red Dot Design Award, the 2014 IF Product Design Award, and the 2016 Green Good Design Award. Nordic Furniture Contract is Now Available in Singapore

On June 20th, Nordic Furniture Contract celebrated its new partnership with Vanguard Interiors through a launch event held at the Vanguard Campus in Kallang, Singapore. The evening started with a presentation by Nordic Furniture Contract’s Brand and Design Director, Koray Malhan about his design philosophy and inspirations from his studies in music, sociology, philosophy, semiology, architecture and linguistics. The guests enjoyed a special wine and dine experience afterwards.
